Tension Surrounding Kazi Hayat
As Kazi Hayat exited the screening, a group of Shakib Khan’s fans blocked his car at the gate. When the veteran filmmaker stepped out to talk to them, the fans started chanting, “Who are you, who am I? Shakibian, Shakibian!” The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument.
Kazi Hayat’s son, actor Kazi Maruf, has already condemned the incident. Now, veteran actor Omar Sani has also spoken out on the matter.

Omar Sani’s Reaction
Taking to social media, Omar Sani expressed his disappointment, stating:
“Kazi Hayat is a legendary name. Although I have never worked with him, I deeply respect him. The way he was treated is extremely unfortunate.”
He further implied that the incident was deliberate:
“It seems to me that this was done intentionally.”
Concluding his post, Omar Sani wrote, “No matter what, let’s uphold dignity. Power is never owned by one person alone.”
Mixed Reactions from Netizens
Omar Sani’s statement has sparked mixed reactions online. While some defended Shakib’s fans, others agreed with the actor, condemning the misbehavior towards a veteran filmmaker.
Many have stated that such behaviour towards an experienced industry figure is completely unacceptable.
Human Chain Demanding ‘Borbad’ Release
Earlier on the same day, Shakib’s fans gathered in front of the Bangladesh Film Certification Board at noon, forming a human chain to demand an uncut release of Borbad. Holding banners and placards, they insisted that the film must be released immediately without any conditions.
On that same day, Kazi Hayat had gone to watch the film at the board. However, as he was leaving, he faced obstruction from Shakib’s fans, leading to a verbal altercation.
The incident has since become a hot topic within the Bangladeshi film industry, with discussions and online reactions still ongoing.
