Nisho Sings in His Own Movie

Afroan Nisho started his career in advertisements, then moved on to acting in TV dramas, where he gained immense popularity before stepping into the film industry. He made an impressive debut with his first movie.

This Eid, his second film is set to be released, and the audience’s excitement surrounding it is at its peak. It has now been revealed that Nisho has also sung a song in the film.

In the eagerly awaited Eid release, ‘Dagi’, Nisho has lent his voice for the title track of the movie.

The song’s lyrics are: “Tomader chokhe dagi / Samajer chokhe dagi / Jotobar khushi mar, totobar bar jagi.” Through the song, Nisho has expressed the essence of his character, ‘Dagi,’ in the film. The song was released online on the night of March 26. The lyrics were penned by Russell Mahmood, and the music and arrangement were done by Arafat Mohsin Nidhi.

In the song, Nisho sings alongside Nidhi in some parts.

The idea of Nisho singing the song came unexpectedly. He had no prior knowledge of it. According to the actor, it was a surprise for him. He shares, “Producer Shahriar Shakil played a demo version of the song for me one day and asked me what I thought of it. I said it was catchy and powerful. We were contemplating what to do with the song, and eventually, I was told, ‘How about you sing the song?’”

The lyrics of the song are written from the perspective of a ‘Dagi.’ Therefore, those involved believed the voice of the film’s ‘Dagi’ character, Nisho, would suit the song the best. Nisho mentions, “The reasons for me agreeing to sing the song seemed quite logical, so I agreed. After some additions and changes, I recorded my voice for it.”

The movie ‘Dagi’ is directed by Shihab Shaheen. In the film, Afroan Nisho plays the role of a notorious criminal. He stars alongside Toma Mirza, and they are reuniting after their successful collaboration in last year’s hit film ‘Surong’. Other cast members include Sunera Binte Kamal, Shahiduzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, Milli Bashar, Rashed Mamun Apu, AK Azad Setu, and many others.
