Actress Barsha Wants to Quit Acting, Says Deepa Khandkar

Afia Nusrat Barsha, who gained recognition through her acting career in the film industry, recently announced her decision to retire from acting. Having delivered several successful films, the actress revealed that she wants to reduce her work as her children are growing up.

Barsha explained in a Facebook post that her elder son is 10 years old and her younger son is 7. “In a few years, when my elder son turns 14 or 15, he might see me as a film actress. What will he think? Keeping these thoughts in mind, I’ve decided to quit acting,” she said.

Her announcement has sparked mixed reactions from netizens, with celebrities in the entertainment industry also sharing their opinions. Actress Deepa Khandkar disagreed with Barsha’s views and posted a response on social media, where she wrote, “At this age, if your child sees you as a film star, it should be a moment of pride.”

In response to Barsha’s statement, actor Jeetu Ahsan wrote in the comments, “Does this mean being a film actress is bad? If a 14-15-year-old child sees his mother as a film star, will that be bad? So, is it bad for Barsha to be an actress now?”

Deepa replied to Jeetu, saying, “What I meant in my post is that if a child sees his mother as a film star at that age, it should be a moment to feel proud of. As for me, I want to act until my last breath. So, I do not agree with Barsha’s views on this.”

In another comment, Jeetu expressed his frustration, saying, “It saddens me to hear what she (Barsha) has said. No one knew them before they entered the media, and now they are criticizing the same industry.” Deepa agreed with Jeetu’s comment, adding, “The media gave them recognition, and it is wrong to speak ill of it.”

Recently, during a press conference, Barsha announced that she would be stepping back from acting. She mentioned that she had a few films left to finish, but after that, she would not take on any new projects.
